The art and science of sclerotherapy in aesthetic practice

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure in which a sclerosing agent, either a chemical solution or foam, is injected directly into a vein or lymph vessel to shrink and eventually remove it.

The procedure usually takes between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size and number of veins being treated. After the procedure, the affected area may be bandaged and the patient may be required to wear compression stockings for a period of time to help the healing process.

The success rate of sclerotherapy is generally high, with most patients seeing improvement in the appearance of their veins within a few weeks of the procedure. However, it is not uncommon for multiple treatments to be required to achieve the desired results.
